November 20, 2021 - The Wise Body - Retreat at Spirit Rock

We practice being with the body from the inside out. Turning inward we discover an internal landscape that’s always changing—full of emotions, thoughts, opinions, and sensations. All these things inform us, whether we know it or not, and that’s what mindfulness helps to shine a light on. We see how our avoidance of a certain sensation, or attachment to a view, manifests in the body, and then turns into a reaction. The more we become familiar with this inner landscape, the more we step out of reactivity and into responsiveness.
